Glenlivet Nadurra

I have had quite a few bottles of Glenlivet over the years but this series has to be my favourite,  the Nadurra is a series of small batches, bottled at cask strength or as it used to say ” natural cask strength” .. This series started off as bourbon matured releases then progressed to sherry matured and now we have a peated version..  Nadurra ( Na-durra ) is the Gaelic word for natural..  Tonights review is from 1st fill American white oak bourbon cask, batch No ff0714..  It is NCF,  and  has been bottled at 63.1% Abv…

Nose..  Luscious waves of vanilla and honey rise as toffee notes and fresh fruits like red apple and pear tantilise your senses, floral notes dance around with a little spicy kick, some subtle coconut and gentle oaky notes just make you want to dive in..

Palate.. Still lovely and sweet but in a more natural way,  candied orange and poached pear covered in fresh heather honey, caramel and toffee fudge along with apple pie and cinnamon, a hint of chocolate and lemon pie.

Finish.. Long and spicy with just a twist of lemon peel and oak..

Thoughts.. Never a dram that disappoints, this is one of those bottles that when you open it you know you are going to enjoy it..  Bring it out in good company and you won’t get them to leave until the bottle has gone..
