1900
Building, slowed by the crash, is finally completed and production begins.
1901
Sold to private buyers going by the name Glen Elgin-Glenlivet Distillery Co Ltd.
1902
The distillery opens. Then closes five months later.
1907
Glasgow whisky merchant John J. Blanche buys the distillery and begins a change of fortune for the distillery.
1930
Becomes part of Scottish Malt Distillers and an important blend in popular White Horse Whiskey.
1950
Distillery becomes powered by electricity rather than traditional water.
1964
The distillery’s production capacity is extended from two to six stills.
1977
Is now available as a Single Malt, Glen Elgin 12 year old. Exports to Italy and Japan.
